Marcus Gitterle MD

Doctor Gitterle is the co-founder and Chief Medical Officer of WoundCentrics, LLC, a provider of wound care specialty services to healthcare facilities in 12 states and more than 120 facilities, including STACH, LTACH, IRF, SNF, LTC, and outpatient wound care settings.

He is actively engaged in wound care research as a Principal Investigator, including more than 25 RCTs, and wound microbiome research with the US Army Institute for Surgical Research.

He serves as a science advisor to several companies in the wound care space developing diagnostic and therapeutic technologies. He is a current member of the Board of Directors of the American Professional Wound Care Association. As founder and faculty member of Wound Care University, he provides postgraduate medical education to healthcare professionals in the areas of wound care and Hyperbaric Medicine.

A graduate of the University of Texas Medical School at San Antonio, he was an emergency physician and EM department chair, before entering full-time wound care and hyperbaric medicine practice in 2010.
