Day 1: Thursday, May 14

Main Auditorium

  • Join us for a light breakfast hosted by our Headline Sponsor. Start your day by networking with peers in an informal setting while enjoying breakfast before the morning sessions begin

  • Kick off the day with a welcome symposium sponsored by our Headline Sponsor. This session will set the stage for the program ahead and provide opening remarks to begin the morning

Session 1: Diagnostics

  • Speaker: New Innovation Sponsored Session

Adequate tissue oxygenation is fundamental to wound healing, influencing cellular metabolism, angiogenesis, collagen synthesis, and host defense. This talk explores oxygenation as a key, quantifiable indicator of wound viability and healing potential. It will review the physiological role of oxygen in acute and chronic wounds, mechanisms underlying hypoxia-driven impaired healing, and the relationship between oxygenation, perfusion, and inflammation. Emerging tools for assessing tissue oxygenation—including transcutaneous oxygen measurements, near-infrared spectroscopy, and other optical technologies—will be discussed with an emphasis on clinical applicability.

  • Speaker: New Innovation Sponsored Session

Advances in imaging and physiologic monitoring now allow for objective, quantitative assessment of tissue perfusion in both acute and chronic wounds. This talk examines perfusion as a measurable biomarker of wound health and healing potential. The presentation will highlight contemporary methods for perfusion assessment, including laser Doppler imaging, hyperspectral imaging, and emerging noninvasive technologies, with emphasis on their strengths, limitations, and appropriate clinical contexts.

  • Speaker: New Innovation Sponsored Session

Recent advances in optical and molecular technologies offer new opportunities to detect, localize, and characterize bacterial burden in wounds with greater speed and precision.

This session explores emerging tools that “illuminate” infection by enabling real-time or near–real-time bacterial identification. Optical imaging modalities, fluorescence-based detection, and molecular diagnostics will be reviewed, with attention to their mechanisms of action, accuracy, and practical integration into clinical workflows. The strengths and limitations of these technologies will be discussed.

  • Speaker: To be announced soon!

This symposium will feature presentations sponsored by our industry partners.

  • Take time to enjoy refreshments, connect with fellow attendees, and explore the exhibition during this break

Session 2: Limb Salvage

  • Speaker: Brock Liden, DPM

A complete wound pathway that adds the structural deformity correction to the diabetic foot ulcer treatment pathway to try to prevent same site recurrence.

  • Speaker: Dr. Lynnette Morrison

This session focuses on empowering clinicians to confidently explore limbsalvage options before committing to amputation. Through practical frameworks, casebased insights and multidisciplinary perspectives, the talk highlights when limb preservation may be viable, how to balance urgency with opportunity, and how to advocate for patients in complex decisionmaking moments. Attendees will leave with strengthened clinical judgment, clearer escalation pathways and greater confidence in challenging amputation when salvage is still achievable.

  • Speaker: Dr. Walaya Methodius-Rayford and Dr. Brett Chatman

This session explores limb salvage as an emerging, distinct discipline within tissue repair. As advances expand what is possible, limb salvage is evolving beyond a procedure into a specialised, multidisciplinary field. The talk will outline the skills, systems and collaborative models needed to build this specialty, highlighting how early intervention, coordinated care and innovative reconstruction can transform outcomes for patients at risk of limb loss.

  • Speaker: TBC

  • Take time to enjoy refreshments, connect with fellow attendees, and explore the exhibition during this break

Session 3: Artificial Intelligence

  • Speaker: Sandeep Gopalakrishnan MS, PhD, MAPWCA

Explore the cutting-edge impact of artificial intelligence on wound imaging and clinical decision-making in this forward-looking session. Attendees will learn how AI-driven tools enhance accuracy, consistency, and efficiency in wound assessment, documentation, and monitoring. This presentation will cover real-world applications and key consideration for integrating AI into everyday practice.

  • Speaker: Desmond Bell, DPM

This session will examine the emergence of AI in the specialty of wound care, including in the areas of diagnosis, and documentation. How to integrate AI into clinical practice and the necessary components to consider will be covered.

  • Speaker: To be announced soon!

This symposium will feature presentations sponsored by our industry partners.

  • Speaker: Sean Agnew

Most healthcare professionals think AI is “future tech”—this session proves it’s already saving lives, time, and money today. AI isn’t optional, learn what to adopt now to stay ahead.

  • Panel: Nancy Morgan, Sean Agnew, Zweli Tunyiswa, Desmond Bell

This panel will look at the question “Has AI meaningfully improved wound care outcomes yet—and if not, what’s the real blocker?”

  • Take time to enjoy refreshments, connect with fellow attendees, and explore the exhibition during this break

Session 4: Mobile

  • Speaker: Kari Harman

Discover how mobile wound care models are breaking down barriers to treatment and improving access for underserved and home-based patients. This session will show attendees practical approaches to delivering high-quality wound management outside traditional clinic settings. Explore evidence-supported strategies, logistical best practices, and key considerations for maintaining quality and continuity of care.

  • Speaker: Zwelithini Tunyiswa

What does it take to stand up a mobile wound care service? This session offers a practical primer, guiding attendees through business formation, credentialing, payer enrollment, and the place-of-service and documentation considerations unique to the mobile environment. Field logistics, supply chain management, scheduling, and referral development are also covered, with attention to building sustainable relationships with skilled nursing facilities, home health agencies, and referring providers. The goal is simple: give attendees a replicable framework they can take home and put to work, regardless of market size or practice maturity.

  • Speaker: Martha Kelso

Mobile wound care providers are experiencing more financial challenges than ever in 2026. This session helps mobile providers identify gaps in their practice to provide alternative revenue streams.
